Middle Eastern Food Tour of Auburn

Join Sabrine Elkhodr on her insider’s guide to the local community and culinary treasures of Auburn.

Located just 19km west of the Sydney CBD and just forty minutes travel time, Auburn is regarded as one of Sydney’s most multicultural suburbs, being a popular first place of settlement for many newly arrived refugees and migrants.

During this progressive lunch, you will discover the diversity of Middle Eastern cuisine – its exotic flavours and ingredients and some of the very best places to shop and eat like a local.

We’ll start with Manoush from a Lebanese bakery, featuring a selection of meat, zaatar and shanklish (dried yoghurt). Then we’ll have a sit-down meal at an Afghan restaurant to sample mantu, ashak, qabuli lamb pilau and more!

We’ll do a walking tour to explore Auburn’s main street and eat our way through the grocers with more tastings.

This will be followed by a sit-down Lebanese banquet featuring hummus, kafta, fried kibbeh, falafel, tabouli and sides. The afternoon concludes with dessert tastings of sweets and pastries.

All food is included.
